The role of leaders has changed a lot lately. Controlling processes and activating employees becomes more and more essential. Leadership doesn’t automatically work via hierarchies anymore. Successful teams and highly motivated employees search for a value-based leader who they can believe in.

As emotionally smart leadership inspires people, evokes their passion and enthusiasm, and motivates them to maintain their commitment. For this, leaders have to learn not to ignore their emotions but to use them wisely. An emotional contact is necessary to make employees think and act. The main goal of leadership is probably to activate people. The leader and his behavior are crucial in this. His behavior is the critical factor that can lead to a relationship that fosters motivation, commitment and an innovative spirit in employees. Empathy and humanity are the basis to lead people successfully and create today’s business world in a positive manner.

Emotions, not facts, are the key to human connection. I support executives in creating authentic relationships with their employees. When working with executives, I regularly notice that executives are confronted with various temptations and permanently conflicting values. Therefore it’s a core goal in my work with executives to support them in becoming clear concerning their own behavior. That is a substantial key for their leadership success.
